BioValue SPIR - A Strategic Platform for Research and Innovation on Biorefining

The platform is funded under the SPIR initiative by The Danish Council for Strategic Research and The Danish Council for Technology and Innovation, and the platform includes all Danish universities, a number of large Danish businesses, and GTS- and Innovation networks, including Innovation Network for Biomass.

The BioValue platform started July 2013 and runs until 2018. BioValue will establish the knowledge base for substitution of products and processes based on fossil raw materials with sustainable biological value chains based on refining of biomass.

BioValue objectives
BioValue targets the entire value chain from sustainable biomass production to separation and conversion of all components of biomass into value-added products:

• New robust biomass supply chains
• New technologies for refining of plant material
• New solutions for sustainable production of chemicals, polymers, feed and food ingredients

BioValue structure:

• Innovative biomass production systems
• Products from green biomass
• Separation of carbohydrates from biomass
• Lysine from 2G biomass
• Catalytic conversion of carbohydrates
• Products from lignin
